The Vintage Taj Mahal Palace

Now everyone talks about its iconic design but have your ever thought why its feels so much

Attractive!! So much. Well its also have its unique story.

The foundation of the Taj was laid in 1898, By Jamshedji Tata.
First opened its doors to guests on 16 December 1903.. This is widely believed that Jamsetji Tata decided to build the hotel after he was refused entry to one of the city's grand hotels of the time, Watson hotel, as it was restricted to "whites only".
The project was completed by Indian architects Sitaram Khanderao Vaidya and D. N. Mirza  an English engineer, W. A. Chambers.

Construction of the Taj cost over Rs. 4crores. The hotel is a six-story building with a central Moorish 240ft high dome and magnificent architecture of the Indo-Saracenic style. This royal palatial building is carved with Victorian Gothic and Romanesque details along with Edwardian touches on the roof.

Not only that American fans, German elevators, Turkish baths and English butlers to give the people of its city an experience like no other hotel in the country.
Jamshedji Tata wanted the hotel to face away from the harbor because he wanted the rooms to be sea-facing, which was never seen in Indian hotels before then. This is perhaps why people believed that the Taj Mahal Palace hotel was accidentally built backwards and the architect committed suicide ,when he realized the mistake. Well, not every time we are able to get each and every fact about any story and the hidden facts makes it more interesting.
